New Delhi, June 27: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has strongly opposed the appointment of a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for the management of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. The party argues that the temple’s administration should be entrusted to religious leaders and saints rather than politicians and officials.
AAP claims that this move by the government is an attempt to divert public attention from the alleged embezzlement of billions of rupees in donations related to the temple.
Arvind Kejriwal, the national convenor of AAP, expressed his views on social media, stating that the management of the Ram Temple should be in the hands of spiritual leaders rather than any political figure or government official. He emphasized that the temple dedicated to Lord Ram is a center of faith and should be managed by individuals whose lives are dedicated to religious values and service.
Earlier, after visiting Ram Lalla, Kejriwal mentioned that the entire Hindu community demands that leaders and officials associated with the temple trust should have no role in its management.
He pointed out that ancient temples like Hanumangarhi have been managed by saints for years, and despite receiving millions in donations, there have never been allegations of financial irregularities. Saints are selfless and can better maintain the temple’s dignity and traditions. Therefore, the management of the Ram Temple should also be entrusted to religious leaders.
Additionally, Saurabh Bhardwaj, the Delhi state president of AAP, criticized the central government on this issue. He questioned how the system would change if the government formed the temple trust and is now responsible for appointing a CEO.
Bhardwaj stated that the demand of millions of Hindus is not for a new CEO but for the management of the temple to be handed over to saints and religious leaders.
He raised concerns about why the government needs to manage temples, asserting that government interference in religious institutions is inappropriate. The management of religious matters should be conducted by spiritual leaders and the saint community.
He concluded that the Ram Temple is not just a religious site but a symbol of faith for millions of devotees, and political or administrative interference in its management should be avoided. AAP has urged the central government to fully delegate the responsibility of managing the Ram Temple to saints and religious leaders, ensuring respect for the temple’s religious traditions and the sentiments of its devotees.
