Zarina Wahab on Growing Dullness in Hindi Cinema at ‘The Raja Saheb’ Trailer Launch

Mumbai, 5 January. After delivering blockbuster films like ‘Baahubali’, ‘Salaar’, and ‘Kalki 2898 AD’, South cinema superstar Prabhas is once again in the spotlight with his new film ‘The Raja Saheb’.

The trailer launch event today saw the entire star cast enjoying the moment. Actress Zarina Wahab, who plays an important role in the film, shared her experiences related to the project and spoke about the increasing dullness in Hindi cinema.

At the trailer launch of ‘The Raja Saheb’, Zarina Wahab said that she had long wished to work in Tamil and Telugu films but was waiting for the right project. She stated, “I have been active in the film industry for 40 years and I come from Andhra Pradesh. People often asked why I did not work in Tamil and Telugu cinema. I believe everything has its right time. I have done some Malayalam and Tamil films, but ‘The Raja Saheb’ has given me much recognition and publicity.”

She added that even after working in Hindi cinema and now doing a Telugu film, people questioned her choices. “My answer is that the family element in Hindi cinema has died. The films no longer show the strong and deep roots of family that are still visible in Telugu and Tamil cinema. Here, family plays a major role in films.”

Speaking about Prabhas and the team, Zarina Wahab said, “Our true king is Prabhas, who is a very kind person. It was a pleasure working with him and the entire team.”

The trailer of ‘The Raja Saheb’ had already been released in Hindi. The film is set to release on 9 January in theatres and will be available in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam languages. Alongside Prabhas, the film features Malavika Mohanan, Nidhi Agarwal, and Riddhi Kumar in lead roles.

‘The Raja Saheb’ is a horror-comedy in which the actor plays a member of a wealthy family owning a mansion worth crores, but the mansion is haunted. The film aims to entertain audiences with both humor and scares.
