Amaravati: YSR Congress Party’s state coordinator, Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, on Friday demanded that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu clarify his allegations regarding adulteration in Tirupati laddus with animal fat.
Reddy stated that Chandrababu Naidu should either take responsibility for his statement or provide an explanation in light of laboratory reports, which have found no evidence of animal fat in the laddus.
He confirmed that the laboratory findings clearly show the absence of animal fat in the Tirupati laddus. Reddy added that Naidu’s remarks have sparked anger among devotees and should be taken seriously. He urged that Naidu be reprimanded for his irresponsible comments.
Speaking to the media, Reddy accused the senior leader of politicising the issue by making baseless claims about adulteration in the laddus. He referred to the SIT report, which states there is no animal fat in the laddus, and called for questioning Naidu over comments that have hurt the sentiments of devotees worldwide.
Reddy also highlighted that the report does not implicate the TTD chairman or board members in any irregularities, clearing their image and emphasizing that legal investigation should focus on the allegations.
The YSRCP leader stressed that Chandrababu Naidu must issue a clarification since his comments triggered the entire investigation and caused distress among devotees.
He further explained that a system for purchasing ghee is already in place and efforts have been made to improve quality control by rejecting any products that do not meet established standards.
