New Delhi, February 15: In the wake of a controversial incident at Delhi University, YouTuber Megha has shared her perspective regarding a viral video. She stated that she chanted “Long Live Brahmanism” in support of her journalist friend, Ruchi Tiwari, who faced targeted harassment.
Megha clarified that she has no ties to any student organization and emphasized the need for Hindu unity beyond caste divisions.
The issue arose when her friend Ruchi, a professional journalist, was present in the DU area. During this time, some JNU students arrived to protest in support of the UGC. Megha asserted that while protesting is a right, the demonstrators questioned her friend about her surname, caste, and gotra, targeting her for being a Brahmin.
According to Megha, her friend was mistreated on the street, prompting them to go to the Morris Nagar police station. The police detained some suspects, but Megha claims that not all responsible individuals faced consequences. She alleged that her group was pressured and sidelined during the incident.
In response to the situation, Megha chanted slogans in support of the Brahmin community. She noted that although she is not a Brahmin herself, it is essential to stand up for any community facing injustice. Megha urged people to avoid division based on caste and to unite on religious grounds.
In her statement, Megha denied any affiliation with the ABVP or Delhi University. She mentioned that some individuals are spreading misinformation about her being associated with ABVP or being a student at DU, while she is an independent reporter and can present her press card if needed. She also accused some AISA leaders of disseminating false information against her.
Megha alleged that there is a significant agenda in the country aimed at dividing society along caste lines. She expressed concern that the Hindu unity established in recent years is being undermined. Referring to Brahmins, Kshatriyas, Shudras, and Vaishyas as “four brothers,” she called for solidarity among them.
Megha also criticized the ideology of JNU, stating that certain slogans and activities reflect an anti-national mindset. She claimed that such thinking is detrimental to the nation and fosters division within society.
Regarding the UGC-related issues, Megha warned that if the new system is implemented, it could exacerbate casteism. She expressed fears that increasing social division would weaken society and empower external challenges. Megha urged the government to focus on other issues, such as population control, anti-conversion laws, and various policy matters.
She reiterated that people should unite not based on caste, but as part of a larger social and cultural framework. Megha emphasized that her goal was not to support any organization, but to stand by her friend and convey a message of unity within society.
