New Delhi, July 2: The Jagatpuri police swiftly solved a blind murder case within hours. A 20-year-old woman, Alisha, is accused of strangling her 19-year-old husband, Mustaqeem, also known as Sahil.
According to police reports, a PCR call was received at Jagatpuri police station around 3:52 AM on July 2, indicating that a woman had strangled her husband. A police team promptly arrived at the scene. They found Mustaqeem unconscious and rushed him to Dr. Hedgewar Hospital, where he was declared dead.
Following a complaint from the victim’s mother, a case was registered at Jagatpuri police station under section 103(1) of the BNS, and Inspector Abhishek Kumar Singh was assigned to the investigation.
Given the seriousness of the crime, the team immediately commenced a thorough investigation. Witness statements were recorded, the crime scene was scientifically examined, and all available evidence was analyzed.
During continuous questioning, Alisha confessed to the murder. She revealed that her husband suspected her of having an affair. After Mustaqeem checked her phone late at night, a heated argument ensued. In the heat of the moment, Alisha, angered by her husband’s physical aggression, strangled him with her dupatta.
Shortly after the incident, the victim’s mother entered the room, prompting Alisha to flee the scene. To evade arrest, she hid in a gurdwara, where police later apprehended her. The dupatta used in the murder has been seized by the authorities.
DCP Rajendra Prasad Meena of Shahdara district stated that the police team’s prompt action, scientific investigation of the crime scene, and persistent questioning led to the resolution of the murder case within hours. Further investigations are ongoing to complete all legal formalities and gather additional evidence.
