Shri Ganganagar, May 20: Young cricketer Manav Suthar from Shri Ganganagar has been selected for the Indian team for the upcoming Test series against Afghanistan. The decision by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has sparked immense joy in the district, with a constant stream of well-wishers visiting his home. His parents are overjoyed.
Manav, a 23-year-old bowling all-rounder, has made his family proud. His father, Jagdish Suthar, a teacher by profession, expressed, “This is a moment of great pride for us. We have been eagerly waiting for this day. Manav has loved cricket since he was five years old. He started attending an academy at the age of 10-11, and our family has supported him wholeheartedly.”

Manav made his IPL debut in 2024, where he played only one match without taking any wickets. In the 2026 IPL season, he played four matches and took two wickets.
In his first-class career, Manav has claimed 129 wickets at an average of 25.76 across 29 matches, while in List-A cricket, he has taken 34 wickets in 25 matches. In T20s, he has achieved 25 wickets at an average of 24.56 in 29 matches.
