
Gwalior, June 12: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the Indian U-19 cricket team for the upcoming series against Sri Lanka. Yashvardhan Singh Chouhan has been appointed as the captain. He expressed immense happiness at realizing his dream of playing for the country.
In an interview, Yashvardhan credited his success to his parents and coach. He shared that he began his cricket coaching at the age of 6 or 7. Under the guidance of coach Lovkesh Chaudhary, he honed his skills. Yashvardhan believes his selection as captain is due to his strong performances at the state and National Cricket Academy (NCA) levels.
He stated that reaching this milestone is a result of the support from his parents and coach. Yashvardhan is excited about leading the U-19 team, calling it a matter of pride to captain India. He is determined to give his best on the field. Playing for the country has always been his dream, and he feels overjoyed that it has now come true.
Yashvardhan’s father, Anami Chouhan, expressed his pride in his son’s selection for Team India, noting that Yashvardhan had been performing well in club cricket since he was 7 or 8 years old, indicating that he was destined for greatness.
Yashvardhan’s mother, Reena Chaudhary, also shared her happiness regarding her son’s achievement and expressed hope that he will continue to excel in the future. Yashvardhan will lead the team in three One Day Internationals and two multi-day matches against Sri Lanka, starting on July 4.
