Yogi Government to Support Triple Talaq and Acid Attack Victims with Housing and Health Coverage

Lucknow, June 10: The Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh has taken a significant step towards women’s empowerment. The government announced that women affected by serious crimes such as triple talaq and acid attacks will receive housing and health insurance coverage. This initiative aims to help them lead a dignified life in society.

The Uttar Pradesh government is considering providing these women with benefits from the Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme, the Chief Minister’s Housing Scheme, the Ayushman Bharat Prime Minister Jan Arogya Yojana, and the Chief Minister’s Jan Arogya Yojana. Additionally, destitute women will also be included in these schemes. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed the Women Welfare Department to expedite this initiative, which has already begun compiling data on women affected by triple talaq and acid attacks to identify eligible beneficiaries for the program.

The motivation behind this move is to ensure that no eligible woman is deprived of government schemes for any reason. To facilitate this, coordination among relevant government departments is being established. In a recent high-level meeting, Chief Minister Yogi provided necessary directives to officials regarding this initiative.

He clearly stated that women living in circumstances of triple talaq and acid attacks should be provided with government housing under various schemes. Furthermore, they and their families should also benefit from the Ayushman Bharat scheme and the Chief Minister’s Jan Arogya Yojana.

Since 2017, Uttar Pradesh has transformed from a topic of national discussion regarding women’s and girls’ safety to a state recognized for its efforts in women’s empowerment.
