Siddharthnagar, June 16: BJP MP Jagdambika Pal has expressed support for Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath‘s recent statements regarding the ongoing crackdown on mafia activities in Uttar Pradesh. He asserted that the era of mafia rule has come to an end, and the rule of law has been firmly established in the state. According to Pal, significant changes in law and order have been observed since the Yogi government took charge.
In an interview, Pal emphasized that when Yogi Adityanath assumed the role of Chief Minister, his top priority was to restore law and order in the state. He accused the previous Samajwadi Party government of creating a lawless environment, where criminals and mafia operated with impunity in several districts.
Pal noted that criminals had a stronghold across the state, with mafia influence evident in every district. Their dominance extended even to police stations, where they could freely abduct individuals. Ordinary citizens felt unsafe during that time.
Discussing women’s safety, Pal remarked that previously, women felt uncomfortable leaving their homes at night. However, the Yogi government has taken this issue seriously. He highlighted that ensuring women’s safety has been a major focus for the Chief Minister, leading to various initiatives at multiple levels. Immediate action is taken against anyone who harasses female students near schools and colleges. The government has made it clear that there will be no compromise when it comes to women’s safety.
Pal also referenced the government’s strict stance against mafia activities, stating that criminals now fear the law. He mentioned that swift action is being ensured against those involved in heinous crimes, including the murder of innocents. He described the mafia as a plague on society, challenging the rule of law. Taking action against such elements is a primary responsibility of the government.
Citing Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s statements, Pal affirmed that the campaign against mafias will continue, and the rule of law will prevail. He reiterated that the clear message from the Chief Minister is that Uttar Pradesh will be governed according to the Constitution and the law, not by the mafia. Pal concluded by stating that the Yogi government’s priority is to establish the rule of law in Uttar Pradesh, adhering to a zero-tolerance policy towards crime and criminals.
