Yoga for a Healthy India: BJP Celebrates International Yoga Day in Uttar Pradesh

Lucknow, June 21: On the occasion of International Yoga Day, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) organized extensive yoga programs across Uttar Pradesh on Sunday, promoting the message of “Yoga for Health” and “Developed India.” From Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to central ministers, deputy chief ministers, and party officials, many participated in yoga sessions, urging citizens to adopt a healthy lifestyle.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath highlighted the importance of yoga by attending a program in Jhansi. Meanwhile, state BJP president and Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary practiced yoga with party officials, representatives, workers, and local citizens in Maharajganj.

BJP National General Secretary Arun Singh participated in the yoga event in Hapur, while Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak attended sessions in Prayagraj and Lucknow, respectively. State General Secretary (Organization) Dharmapal Singh also took part in the yoga programs held in Rajajipuram, Lucknow.

Pankaj Chaudhary emphasized that yoga is not merely physical exercise but a science of life that connects body, mind, and soul. He stated that yoga is the foundation for mental balance, spiritual peace, and a positive lifestyle. He urged people to incorporate yoga into their daily routines, asserting that the participation of every citizen is essential for building a healthy and energetic nation.

He remarked that the concept of “Sarve Santu Niramaya” is an invaluable contribution of Indian culture to the world, and the philosophy of yoga is based on this sentiment. Thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s efforts, yoga has evolved into a global movement and has established itself as a cultural identity of India worldwide.

Dharmapal Singh, during the program in Rajajipuram, referred to yoga as an invaluable gift of Indian culture, spirituality, and philosophy, which establishes balance between body, mind, and soul. He noted that due to Prime Minister Modi‘s continuous efforts, yoga has gained global recognition, with millions incorporating it into their lifestyles. Yoga not only serves as a foundation for individual health but is also a crucial means for building a strong, healthy, and self-reliant nation. He called for everyone to adopt regular yoga practices to realize the vision of a healthy, prosperous, and developed India.

State Vice President Manvendra Singh reported that on International Yoga Day, central ministers participated in yoga sessions in various locations, including Agra, Meerut, Sonbhadra, and Lucknow.

The BJP organized yoga camps at the divisional level throughout the state. These events saw significant participation from state government ministers, MPs, MLAs, mayors, local representatives, party officials, and workers. Additionally, various social, religious, spiritual, and business organizations also held yoga camps, strengthening efforts to make yoga a mass movement.

BJP leaders stated that yoga, as an ancient heritage of India, also effectively addresses many modern life challenges. Regular yoga practice can significantly contribute to achieving the goals of a healthy society and a developed nation.
