Hamirpur, June 21: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated that the real identity crisis lies with those who have made the state lag behind. He emphasized that the people now reject those who have previously brought shame to Uttar Pradesh.
Adityanath highlighted that the public voted for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Hamirpur and Rath, leading to significant developments such as enhanced security, water supply to every household, and the construction of expressways.
He urged the residents of Bundelkhand to ensure that mafia supporters do not return. The focus should be on unity rather than division based on caste, region, or language. Healthy competition should be encouraged for the sake of development, heritage, faith, and the economy.
During the inauguration of 75 development projects worth over ₹636 crores at Swami Brahmanand Degree College in Rath, a short film dedicated to the development of Hamirpur was also screened.
The Chief Minister noted that connectivity in Bundelkhand was poor nine years ago, with roads in disrepair. Women often had to carry water in clay pots. Hamirpur, located at the confluence of the Yamuna and Betwa rivers, was desperate for water and recognition. The exploitation by sand and mining mafias had tarnished the image of Uttar Pradesh.
Adityanath remarked that under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, India has transformed in the last 12 years. He mentioned that on the morning of International Yoga Day, millions from nearly 100 countries participated in yoga, showcasing India’s rich heritage. Modi has also recognized the Kumbh Mela as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity.
He criticized the politics of casteism, stating that previous governments only filled their families’ pockets. For Modi, the entire nation is family, while for the state, it is the 25 crore residents. He emphasized that working for the public’s interest leads to tangible results.
Since becoming Chief Minister in 2017, Adityanath has addressed the connectivity issues in Bundelkhand, culminating in the completion of the Bundelkhand Expressway. He noted that Uttar Pradesh is now home to defense manufacturing, including missile production.
The Chief Minister highlighted the success of the Har Ghar Jal scheme, which is providing relief to women. Initiatives like Balini Milk Producers and Drone Didi are empowering women. Youngsters from Bundelkhand are now being recruited into the police force, a significant change from the past when plans were made with a narrow focus.
He announced that new air services would soon begin from Chitrakoot, enhancing air connectivity in Bundelkhand. The government has also approved a bus stand for Rath and is expediting its construction.
Adityanath emphasized the need for a medical college in Hamirpur and condemned the mafia that thrived under previous governments. He assured that under the double-engine government, there is no place for mafias, who are either imprisoned or eliminated.
He urged the people of Bundelkhand to participate in water conservation programs, highlighting various irrigation projects underway. The Chief Minister stressed the importance of saving every drop of water and adopting modern agricultural practices for better yields.
He concluded by stating that Bundelkhand is now meeting national needs, with significant industrial projects approved in the region. The youth are no longer migrating for opportunities, thanks to the development initiatives.
