Raipur, August 1 (HS): According to the Meteorological Department, while the intensity of rainfall may slightly decrease in central Chhattisgarh in the coming days, the rest of the state will continue to experience rain. The India Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for several districts in the state. Local residents have been advised to remain cautious during adverse weather and avoid venturing outdoors unless necessary.

Alert for Strong Winds and Lightning in 11 Districts
The yellow alert for Friday has been issued for the districts of Durg, Janjgir-Champa, Raigarh, Korba, Balod, Rajnandgaon, Mahasamund, Raipur, Bilaspur, Dhamtari, and Mungeli. In these districts, wind speeds may reach 30 to 40 km/h over the next few hours. There is also a warning for lightning in some areas.
Monsoon Trough and Cyclonic Systems Influencing Weather
As per the department, the monsoon trough currently extends from Sri Ganganagar to the Bay of Bengal. In addition, a cyclonic circulation is active over Gangetic West Bengal in the upper atmosphere, extending up to 9.6 km in height. A western disturbance is also active as a trough line at 5.8 km altitude at 70°E and 32°N, impacting the state’s weather conditions.
Light to Moderate Rainfall Recorded in Last 24 Hours
During the last 24 hours, various parts of the state have recorded light to moderate rainfall. Some areas of Balrampur district experienced heavy rain. The highest rainfall was recorded in Kusmi at 9 cm and Ambagarh Chowki at 5 cm. The maximum temperature in the state was recorded at 32.8°C in Raipur, while the minimum temperature was 21.2°C in Durg and Pendra Road.
