Rohtak, September 19 (Daily Kiran) : The Haryana Innovative Film Association (HIFA) recently hosted a two-day International Film Festival at Supwa University in Rohtak, featuring Bollywood actor Yashpal Sharma. Speaking at the event, Sharma highlighted the significance of such festivals, stating they are essential for showcasing both national and international films, including those from Haryana.
These events provide young artists with valuable opportunities to explore diverse cinematic styles. Sharma noted that platforms like HIFA play a crucial role in promoting local talent. He mentioned that award ceremonies are increasingly important, emphasizing that this is not the first such event in Haryana, but it marks a vibrant celebration in its inaugural year.
Sharma described the festival as a journey from “local to global,” showcasing an array of films from various countries alongside Haryana’s own cinema. While acknowledging that there may be some shortcomings in the festival’s first year, he expressed optimism for continuous improvement and excellence.

It includes masterclasses led by notable Bollywood writer-director Ashwini Chaudhary and Akhilendra Mishra, offering significant learning opportunities. Sharma encouraged Haryana’s artists and stage performers to seize the numerous audition opportunities available, urging them to showcase their talent.
Regarding his film “Hanuman Ansh,” Sharma stated that it has progressed on its own merits and that more films of this nature are needed. He emphasized the importance of sincerity in filmmaking, asserting that any film should be created with clear intentions, free from any agenda. He clarified that while making religious films is commendable, introducing a specific agenda can lead to misdirection.
Sharma also addressed questions regarding the investigation into the death of Disha Salian, involving Aditya Thackeray and Rhea Chakraborty, stating he lacks detailed information but believes a thorough investigation is necessary to reveal the truth and clarify the situation regarding the guilty and innocent parties.
