New Delhi, April 5: The central government has called a three-day special session of Parliament regarding the Women’s Reservation Bill. BJP MP Aparajita Sarangi has commended this initiative.
In an interview with a news agency in New Delhi, she expressed her joy as a female MP. The Nari Shakti Vandan Act was passed by Parliament in 2023, reserving 33% of seats for women in the Lok Sabha and state assemblies. This is a significant step forward. The special session is scheduled for April 16, 17, and 18, and it highlights three key points.
First, the 33% reservation mentioned in the Nari Shakti Vandan Act will be implemented. Second, the Narendra Modi government does not just make promises; it takes action. Discussions will take place in this session regarding the implementation of this reservation by the 2029 general elections, reflecting the Modi government’s commitment. Third, Prime Minister Modi has emphasized the importance of federalism.
The BJP MP stated that PM Modi’s government is continuously working for the upliftment of women. Our government understands that without advancing half the population, the country cannot develop. The PM Awas Yojana is provided in the names of both women and men, and women are prioritized in other beneficial schemes as well. Efforts were made during the UPA government in 2010, but they did not reach fruition.
Sarangi also criticized the Congress party for its absence from the meeting called to discuss the Women’s Reservation Bill. She remarked that Congress does not support the development of women and is avoiding this parliamentary session because it opposes women’s reservation. The public is observing Congress’s behavior, mindset, and attitude.
Additionally, she responded to Congress MP Mallikarjun Kharge’s statement regarding the Kerala elections, asserting that Kerala is a part of India and is receiving abundant love from the people. She noted that previous governments in Kerala hindered its development. The NDA has a double-engine government in 19 states, where rapid development is taking place. The educated people of Kerala will benefit from having a double-engine government.
