Womens Reservation Bill: A Milestone for Political Empowerment, Says Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi

New Delhi, April 13: Senior BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi stated that the Women’s Reservation Bill will serve as a significant milestone for the political empowerment of women. However, he criticized certain individuals for attempting to obstruct and derail the bill through politically motivated tactics, which he deemed harmful to their political health. “How long can you mislead people and create confusion?” he questioned.

In an interview in New Delhi, Naqvi condemned the opposition for fabricating false stories to create division and conflict within society. He emphasized that the Women’s Reservation is not based on religious or caste lines. “Any woman, regardless of her religion or caste, will benefit from this,” he asserted.

Targeting the Congress party, Naqvi remarked that they have developed a habit of sabotaging others’ efforts when they fail to achieve their own goals. “If we cannot win, we won’t let others play either. You failed to do what you should have, and now you feel discomfort as PM Modi moves forward with his commitment to reform, transform, and perform,” he added.

Naqvi noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged all opposition parties to support the bill during the special session scheduled for April 16. Meanwhile, Sonia Gandhi has raised questions regarding its implementation through a letter.

“I believe the Congress party does not understand what it is doing. Some people shoot themselves in the foot, while Congress leaders keep the axe in their pocket, waiting for the right moment to strike. Their foolishness is leading to their downfall. The law regarding women’s reservation will be enacted, and you cannot stop it with your tricks,” he stated.

Regarding Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s comments on the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), Naqvi responded that she claims the UCC is dangerous for the country and will not be implemented in Bengal. He clarified that religious beliefs will remain completely free under the UCC, allowing people to practice their faith while also liberating them from the complexities of civil laws. “I believe the time has come for its implementation,” he concluded.
