
Mumbai, June 19: A woman shopping for clothes in Mumbai has reported an incident of harassment. The accused has been identified as Rafat Hussain, against whom the police have filed a case. This incident occurred in the Juhu area, where the woman went to purchase clothing.
According to the woman’s complaint, she was shopping with four other women when the accused took advantage of the situation and inappropriately touched her. When she protested, the other women present intervened and confronted the accused. Following this, the woman went to the nearest police station to file a report.
The police have registered a case against Rafat Hussain at the Santa Cruz police station, taking the matter seriously. The case has been filed under relevant sections of the law. However, as of now, Rafat Hussain has not been arrested.
Authorities are currently reviewing CCTV footage from the showroom as part of their investigation.
In a related incident, a team from the Welcome police station in Northeast Delhi recently arrested a wanted suspect in a rape case after a lengthy investigation. The police apprehended the accused in Uttarakhand two months after the case was filed.
On April 4, a 21-year-old woman reported that she was sexually assaulted by a man who brandished a firearm. The accused allegedly recorded a video of the victim and subsequently blackmailed and threatened her, leading to repeated sexual exploitation. The investigation revealed that the victim was a minor at the time of the incident, prompting the addition of relevant charges under the POCSO Act.
After an extensive search, the police successfully arrested the suspect in Bhagwanpur, Uttarakhand.
