President Murmu Expresses Condolences Over Delhi Building Collapse

Delhi, September 6 (Daily Kiran) : President Droupadi Murmu has expressed profound sadness over the recent building collapse in the Satya Niketan area of Delhi. In a statement posted on her official X account, she extended her condolences to the families who lost loved ones and wished for a swift recovery for the injured.

The tragic incident occurred on Sunday when the building unexpectedly collapsed. According to Delhi police, three fatalities have been confirmed, and eleven individuals have been rescued from the debris. Authorities fear that more people may still be trapped under the rubble.

Rescue operations are underway at a rapid pace, with teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Delhi police, fire department, and district administration on-site. Modern cameras and equipment are being utilized to locate those trapped, and oxygen cylinders have been sent into the debris to assist them.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta visited the scene, accompanied by Minister Kapil Mishra, local legislators, and senior government officials. She has instructed officials to ensure that there is no negligence in the rescue efforts and that the injured receive the best possible medical care.

Earlier, Union Health Minister JP Nadda also spoke with the Chief Minister to assess the situation and assured that the Health Ministry would provide all necessary assistance. He directed hospitals, including AIIMS in New Delhi, to be prepared for treating the injured.
