West Bengal Governor Urges Enthusiastic Voting in Final Phase

Kolkata, April 29: West Bengal Governor R.N. Ravi has called on the state’s residents to participate enthusiastically in the second and final phase of voting scheduled for April 29.

In a statement, the Governor urged voters, particularly the youth, women, and first-time voters, to come out in large numbers to strengthen democracy. He emphasized the importance of every vote in shaping the future of West Bengal and reinforcing democracy and the rule of law.

As the final phase of the West Bengal Assembly elections approaches, Governor Ravi appealed to all voters to engage wholeheartedly in this democratic celebration. This statement was released by the West Bengal Lok Bhavan.

Voting will take place in 142 constituencies, including the high-profile Bhawanipur seat, where Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is contesting. She faces a challenge from BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari in this significant electoral battle.

The first phase of voting, held on April 23 across 152 constituencies, saw a remarkable turnout of 93.19%, marking the highest voter turnout in the state’s history. The counting of votes is scheduled for May 4.

To ensure a free, fair, and fear-free electoral process, the West Bengal Lok Bhavan announced that a dedicated 24/7 citizen helpline will remain operational until May 10. This helpline aims to assist voters and address concerns related to the ongoing assembly election process, receiving complaints and suggestions from citizens across the state.
