Bhopal, March 17: Madhya Pradesh is set to witness a significant change in weather starting March 18. The meteorological department has issued warnings for thunderstorms and strong winds in several districts, while other areas will remain dry.

From March 18, regions including Gwalior, Datia, Bhind, and Morena may experience rain accompanied by thunder. Currently, daytime temperatures across the state are below 40 degrees Celsius. On Sunday, Bhopal recorded a maximum temperature of 36.4 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 18.6 degrees Celsius. The weather department has specifically warned of lightning and heavy winds in districts of Gwalior, Rewa, and Chambal divisions.

Where is the Yellow Alert Issued on March 18?

According to the weather department, from March 18 to 20, various parts of Madhya Pradesh are likely to see thunderstorms and heavy winds. A yellow alert has been issued for light rain with thunder in parts of Badwani, Alirajpur, Jhabua, Dhar, Ratlam, Mandsaur, Neemuch, Gwalior, Datia, Bhind, Morena, Shyopur, Dindori, Chhindwara, Seoni, Mandla, and Balaghat districts.

Strong Winds Expected

The weather department predicts winds blowing at speeds of 30 to 40 km/h in the same districts during this period.

Yellow Alert for March 19

On March 19, a yellow alert has been issued for Rajgarh, Betul, Harda, Burhanpur, Khandwa, Khargone, Badwani, Alirajpur, Jhabua, Dhar, Indore, Ratlam, Ujjain, Shajapur, Agar Malwa, Mandsaur, Neemuch, Guna, Ashoknagar, Shivpuri, Gwalior, Datia, Bhind, Morena, Shyopur, Dindori, Chhindwara, Seoni, Mandla, Balaghat, Tikamgarh, Niwari, and Pandurna. Thunderstorms and rain are expected, with winds reaching speeds of 40 to 50 km/h.

Yellow Alert for March 20

On March 20, a yellow alert will also be in effect for Bhopal, Vidisha, Raisen, Sehore, Narmadapuram, Betul, Harda, Guna, Ashoknagar, Shivpuri, Gwalior, Datia, Bhind, Morena, Shyopur, Singrauli, Sidhi, Rewa, Mauganj, Satna, Anuppur, Shahdol, Umaria, Dindori, Katni, Jabalpur, Narsinghpur, Chhindwara, Seoni, Mandla, Balaghat, Panna, Damoh, Sagar, Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh, Niwari, Maihar, and Pandurna. Thunderstorms and rain are anticipated in these districts.

Weather Conditions on March 21

The weather department has indicated that winds could reach speeds of 40 to 50 km/h in some districts on March 20. Additionally, adverse weather conditions may persist in certain areas on March 21. Over the past 24 hours, the highest maximum temperature recorded in Madhya Pradesh was 38.9 degrees Celsius in Narmadapuram, while the lowest minimum temperature was 11.8 degrees Celsius in Pachmarhi (Narmadapuram).

These developments come as weather patterns shift, with alerts also issued for other regions, including Jharkhand, where thunderstorms and rain are expected.
