Patna, 01 September (Kiran News): Three women lost their lives after being struck by lightning in Daniyalpur Kurui village, under Mohania police station area of Kaimur district, Bihar. The tragic incident occurred on Monday when the women were working in the fields. Four other women suffered serious burn injuries in the incident, plunging the entire village into mourning.

The deceased have been identified as Kumari Devi (wife of Manoj Ram), Premsheela Devi (wife of Madan Ram), and Mangri Devi (wife of Ashok Ram). The injured include Meera Devi (wife of Rohit Ram), Janki Devi (wife of Harishchandra), Kunti Devi (wife of Shriram), and Geeta Devi (wife of Madan Ram).
All the women are reported to be residents of the same village. Local villagers quickly rushed the injured to Mohania Sub-Divisional Hospital, where they are currently receiving treatment. According to doctors, the condition of the four injured women remains critical.
Upon receiving news of the incident, District Councillor Geeta Pasi reached the spot. She expressed deep sorrow over the deaths and injuries caused by the lightning strike, and urged the government to immediately provide disaster relief and compensation to the affected families.
Mohania police station in-charge confirmed that three women had died and five were injured in the incident. The bodies of the deceased have been sent to Bhabhua Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. The Circle Officer, who also arrived at the scene, confirmed the incident and assured that government assistance would be provided to the victim families.
