Mumbai, May 30: AIMIM national spokesperson Waris Pathan has made serious allegations against the government regarding the recent deaths caused by toxic alcohol in Pune. In a conversation, he stated that the government is diverting attention from real issues by engaging in Hindu-Muslim politics, while 13 people have died from consuming poisonous liquor in Pune. Pathan criticized the negligence of the government and administration, claiming they are trying to evade responsibility by merely issuing statements.
He questioned why illegal liquor sales, which have been ongoing for a long time, were not stopped. Pathan raised concerns about who is protecting these illegal operations. He demanded that murder charges be filed against local leaders, corrupt officials, and the liquor mafia. He emphasized that expressing sorrow is not enough; strict action must be taken against those responsible. He suggested that if bulldozers are to be used, they should target the liquor dens that are endangering lives, not the homes of the poor.
Pathan asserted that not only in Maharashtra but across the country, the government should take stringent measures against illegal liquor trade. He accused corrupt systems and colluding politicians of allowing such businesses to thrive. He noted that despite numerous complaints, no action is taken because money reaches the top.
He also criticized the politics surrounding Bakrid and Muslims, claiming some individuals deliberately create controversies to harass Muslims and spread hatred in society. Pathan highlighted that millions of Muslims celebrated Eid peacefully across the country, performing prayers and sacrifices while promoting brotherhood and peace. He stated that there were no disturbances, yet some continue to raise new issues to create tension.
Pathan alleged that the government is attempting to distract the public from real issues. He pointed out that serious topics like NEET paper leaks, unemployment, inflation, and rising fuel prices are being overshadowed by religious disputes. He noted that petrol and diesel prices have increased multiple times in a month, yet there is no discussion on it.
On the topic of infiltration and border security, he criticized the central government, asserting that national security is paramount and strong border security is essential. However, he condemned the practice of defaming Muslims in the name of border security. He targeted Home Minister Amit Shah, stating that if infiltration is occurring, the government is responsible. He remarked that while the government frequently raises the issue of infiltrators, tangible actions are lacking.
Regarding the NEET paper leak case, Pathan demanded the resignation of the education minister. He expressed that the government’s negligence has impacted the futures of millions of students. He mentioned that many students are under mental stress and have resorted to extreme measures like suicide. He described the situation as not merely a mistake but akin to cold-blooded murder. He called for the government to cover all expenses for students who need to travel for re-examinations, including their travel, accommodation, and food.
Pathan concluded by stating that students should not have to suffer every time a paper leak occurs, as the fault lies with the system. He insisted that if the government understands the students’ plight, they should provide all possible assistance.
