New Delhi, September 26 (Udaipur Kiran News). Vodafone Idea (Vi) has completed the first phase of its 5G rollout, making the service available across all 17 priority circles and in nearly 29–30 cities. While the expansion has not brought immediate subscriber gains, it has delivered a significant boost to the company’s overall data traffic.

Surge in data consumption
According to the telco, total data traffic volume has grown by 25–30% since the introduction of 5G. This indicates that users are actively adopting the new network, consuming more data, and adjusting to higher-speed services. Vi expects this trend to accelerate as 5G coverage expands further.
The wider availability of 5G-enabled smartphones is also expected to contribute to faster adoption, higher data consumption, and eventually stronger revenue growth for the company.
Monetisation and FWA opportunity
Although Vodafone Idea has showcased its 5G Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) router earlier, the company has yet to focus significantly on this segment. Industry observers consider FWA a crucial way to monetise 5G in the short term. Analysts expect Vi to explore this opportunity as its rollout progresses.
For now, the successful completion of the first phase of 5G rollout marks a strategic step forward for Vodafone Idea, setting the stage for future growth and monetisation opportunities.
