Bengaluru, March 21: The first match of IPL 2026 is set to take place on March 28, featuring last season’s champions, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). This exciting clash will occur at RCB’s home ground, M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. To ensure strong performances throughout the season, RCB players are intensively training.
During a practice session, legendary player and former captain Virat Kohli inspired his teammates to perform at their best. He emphasized the importance of not wasting any time and urged them to play to their fullest potential. Kohli stated that to defend their title, the team must step onto the field with improved preparation.
RCB shared a video of the practice session on the social media platform X, showcasing Kohli engaging with his fellow players.
Kohli remarked, “In the last two to three seasons, we have worked incredibly hard, which led us to win the trophy last season. Now, things will be even tougher as other teams will come prepared. We cannot afford to waste these days before the season starts. Therefore, we must be fully ready. Let’s not waste a single minute of any session we are part of.”
He stressed that all players need to give their 120 percent.
Kohli has been with the team since 2008 and has served as captain for an extended period, consistently delivering outstanding performances. His contribution was crucial in RCB winning their first IPL title in 2025, where he scored 657 runs, including eight half-centuries, across 15 matches.
Having retired from international T20 cricket, IPL remains the only platform for fans to witness Kohli in this format. Expectations are high for him to deliver another spectacular performance.
