Vice President Expresses Condolences Over Nepal Bus Tragedy, Prays for Injured Recovery

New Delhi, March 16: Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan has expressed profound sorrow over the recent bus accident in Nepal. The tragic incident resulted in the deaths of seven Indian pilgrims from Tamil Nadu, with several others injured.

The Vice President conveyed his deep sadness upon learning about this unfortunate event and extended heartfelt condolences to the grieving families. He also prayed for the swift recovery of those injured. Furthermore, he instructed relevant authorities and the Indian Embassy in Nepal to provide all possible assistance to the injured and to arrange for the repatriation of the deceased’s bodies to India.

In a post on the social media platform X, the Vice President wrote, “I am deeply saddened to hear about the tragic bus accident in Nepal, which claimed the lives of seven Indian pilgrims from Tamil Nadu and left many others injured. I express my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and pray for the quick recovery of the injured. My sympathies are with the families who lost their loved ones in this tragic incident.”

He further stated, “I have also instructed the relevant authorities and the Indian Embassy in Nepal to provide all necessary assistance, including helping the injured and arranging for the repatriation of the deceased.”

It is noteworthy that this painful accident occurred on Saturday in Gorkha District. A microbus carrying Indian pilgrims skidded off the road and fell into a gorge while heading towards the Ambukhaireni area in Tanahun District, just west of the Manakamana Temple.

The Indian Embassy is actively working to repatriate the bodies of the deceased pilgrims. They have stated that they are in contact with the affected families and are providing all possible support. Following the accident, local administration and rescue agencies conducted operations to transport the injured to hospitals.

According to local police, the pilgrims were returning from worship at the Manakamana Temple when the microbus plunged into the gorge. Seven Indian pilgrims lost their lives, while seven others sustained injuries.
