VHP Supports Inclusion of Emergency Chapter in NCERT Textbooks, Advocates Youths Right to Know the Truth

Mumbai, June 26: The National Spokesperson of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), Shri Raj Nair, has defended the inclusion of the Emergency chapter in NCERT textbooks. He also expressed support for reopening pending cases following the change of government in West Bengal.

In response to Congress leader Hussain Dalwai’s remarks about the Emergency chapter in NCERT books, Nair stated that India is the world’s largest democracy. He described the Emergency as a significant conspiracy to tarnish Indian democracy.

Nair highlighted how former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi suppressed the media, imprisoned opposition leaders for months, and imposed restrictions on government institutions during the Emergency. He called this period a major stain on the country. He emphasized that future generations of Indian youth should learn the truth about the Emergency through their curriculum.

He criticized Hussain Dalwai for his nonsensical statements, asserting that Indian youth have the right to know about Hindutva. Nair pointed out that the partition of India occurred solely on religious grounds, asserting that India was, is, and will remain a Hindu nation.

Nair also commented on the recent change of government in West Bengal, now led by Suvendu Adhikari. He claimed that during Mamata Banerjee’s tenure, heinous crimes went unpunished, and criminals were given free rein, with appeasement politics prevailing.

He noted that districts like Messagekhali were under the grip of criminals, and during Banerjee’s rule, justice was not served. The new government under Suvendu Adhikari has decided to reopen old pending cases, a move that the VHP fully welcomes. Nair expressed confidence that criminals would face strict punishment, ensuring that no future government would encourage criminal activity.
