VHP Calls for Investigation into Meeting Between Maharashtra Minority Commission Chair and Notorious Gangster Abu Salem

Nagpur, September 16 (Daily Kiran) : The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has raised concerns over a meeting between Pyare Khan, the Chair of the Maharashtra State Minority Commission, and notorious gangster Abu Salem in Nashik Central Jail. The VHP has formally requested an investigation into this encounter, which they deem serious.

In a letter submitted to district officials in Nagpur, the VHP criticized Khan for associating with an individual known for his criminal background while holding a constitutional position. They are calling for Khan’s removal from office and for the matter to be investigated by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

The letter stated, “Recently, we learned through newspapers that Pyare Khan, despite his constitutional responsibilities, visited Nashik Jail during an official tour and met with Abu Salem, who is convicted for the 1993 Mumbai bomb blasts, assuring him of support.”

The VHP described such meetings with individuals involved in anti-national activities as highly inappropriate. They argue that this not only tarnishes the image of the Maharashtra government but also represents a blatant misuse of Khan’s position and authority.

In their memorandum to Nagpur district officials, the VHP demanded immediate dismissal of Khan from his post and suggested appointing a more qualified individual from the minority community to take over his responsibilities. They emphasized the need for a thorough investigation into the reasons behind this meeting, its implications for national security, and any potential involvement in illicit activities.
