
Bulawayo, February 1 – India has set a target of 253 runs for Pakistan in the Under-19 World Cup 2026 Super Six match. Vedant Trivedi played a crucial role for India by scoring a valuable half-century.
So far, Australia, Afghanistan, and England have qualified for the semifinals. The upcoming match between India and Pakistan will decide the final semifinal spot. Team India aims to win this match to top Group 2.
On Sunday, at Queens Sports Club, Pakistani captain Farhan Yusuf won the toss and chose to field first, inviting India to bat. India posted 252 runs in 49.5 overs. Opening batsmen Aaron George and Vaibhav Suryavanshi gave the team a strong start, putting together 47 runs in 7.4 overs. Vaibhav scored 30 runs off 22 balls, including one six and five fours, before getting out.
Captain Ayush Mhatre came in at number three but was dismissed for a duck on the last ball of the over. The next over saw Aaron George also dismissed after scoring 16 runs off 25 balls, which included one four.
India lost three wickets within four balls. From there, Vihan Malhotra and Vedant Trivedi built a partnership of 62 runs in 93 balls for the fourth wicket, pushing the score past 100. Vihan contributed 21 runs to the partnership.
At 109 runs, four wickets were down when Vedant Trivedi took charge. He added 38 runs for the fifth wicket with Abhigyan Kundu, followed by a 35-run partnership with R.S. Ambarish, who scored 29 runs.
Kanisk Chauhan and Khilan Patel put together an important 50-run stand for the eighth wicket in 31 balls, taking India to 250 runs. Kanisk scored 35 runs off 29 balls before getting out, while Khilan contributed 21 runs.
