Dehradun, March 31: Minister Rekha Arya of the Uttarakhand government provided detailed insights following a review meeting on domestic gas supply.
She stated that the meeting focused on the current gas supply system in the state, the challenges faced, and potential solutions. Representatives from Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPC), and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation (HPC) were present alongside district officials to enhance coordination for better supply management.
In an interview with a news agency, Arya confirmed that the gas supply situation is normal across all districts. Particularly in the plains, the doorstep delivery service has been effectively implemented, providing significant relief to consumers.
In hilly districts, gas supply is being ensured on a roster basis due to geographical conditions. Arya acknowledged that there had been complaints of black marketing in some plain markets, and strict actions have been taken, including filing FIRs.
The meeting also discussed piped natural gas (PNG) supply. Arya noted that PNG systems are functioning well in the plains, and the state government will appeal to the central government for further promotion. Additionally, discussions were held regarding the supply of petrol and diesel with the relevant companies. She emphasized that despite global conditions, the domestic and commercial gas situation in Uttarakhand remains completely normal under the guidance of the Narendra Modi government and the leadership of the state’s Chief Minister.
Responding to political queries, Rekha Arya commented on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, stating that his speeches and participation in Parliament should be observed closely. She also highlighted the importance of understanding Rahul Gandhi’s stance on issues related to the BJP governments and Congress’s own governance.
