Dehradun, September 8 (Daily Kiran) : Manu Gaur, a member of the drafting committee for the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), recently made significant remarks regarding changes in minority education systems in Uttarakhand. He stated that the education reforms implemented in the state are now serving as a model for others across the country, inspiring various states to adopt similar policies.
Gaur expressed his satisfaction with West Bengal‘s recent steps toward establishing a uniform education system. He noted that Uttarakhand became the first state in India to implement the UCC, in which he played a role as a committee member. At that time, he predicted that this initiative, which originated in the “Devbhoomi” of Uttarakhand, would eventually influence other states.
He highlighted important changes made to the madrasa education system in Uttarakhand, aiming to integrate minority educational institutions into the mainstream education framework. According to Gaur, the goal was to ensure that children from minority communities have access to modern education, thereby providing them with better opportunities in administrative services, business, and other professional fields.
Gaur has always believed that this effort to connect minority children with modern education would lay the foundation for significant change. He claimed that the process initiated in Uttarakhand is now reaching other parts of the country, enabling more students to access equal opportunities.
Regarding the UCC, he mentioned that Uttarakhand’s model has emerged as a template for other states. Discussions and initiatives on this topic are now visible in states like Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Assam. Gaur noted that these efforts indicate that the system implemented in Uttarakhand is being viewed as an example to follow.
He emphasized that the reforms related to education and legal systems aim to provide equal opportunities for all segments of society. Gaur expressed hope that more states will take steps in this direction, making the education system more inclusive and modern in the future.
