Maharashtra Seeks Air Show to Boost Tourism and Youth Engagement

New Delhi, October 1 (Daily Kiran) : Central Minister of State for AYUSH, Prataprao Jadhav, has reached out to Defense Minister Rajnath Singh with a proposal for an air show featuring the Indian Air Force’s Surya Kiran Aerobatic Display Team. The event is suggested to take place from November 23 to 25 at prominent tourist destinations in Maharashtra, including the unique Lonar Crater Lake in Buldhana district.

In his letter, Jadhav emphasized the team’s precision and skill in coordinated aerial maneuvers, highlighting how such displays showcase India’s aviation capabilities. He believes these performances can inspire public interest and encourage young people to explore opportunities within the Indian Air Force.

Jadhav specifically pointed out Lonar Crater Lake, known for its distinctive geological and environmental features, which attract numerous tourists. The lake is famous for its saline and alkaline waters and stunning crater landscape.

He also drew attention to the Ajanta and Ellora Caves, globally recognized for their cultural and historical significance, both of which are listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

The minister has requested the Defense Ministry to grant the necessary approvals for the Surya Kiran Aerobatic Display and related activities on any of the proposed dates—November 23, 24, or 25—at Lonar, Ajanta, and Ellora.

The proposed air show aims to add a unique public attraction to these sites while showcasing India’s aviation excellence and highlighting Maharashtra’s rich natural, cultural, and heritage tourism potential.
