Lucknow, September 14 (Daily Kiran) : Political tensions in Uttar Pradesh are escalating as the Samajwadi Party and Congress launch sharp criticisms against the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Congress spokesperson Surendra Rajput voiced support for Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav’s statement, which promised to abolish the outsourcing system if they come to power. Rajput hailed this move as a significant step for the public interest.
In comments made to a news agency, Rajput indicated that if the Samajwadi Party assumes power, decisions will be made with public welfare in mind. He emphasized that the Indi Alliance is known for its pro-people initiatives. Should the Indi Alliance govern, filling vacant government positions and regularizing contract employees will be prioritized.
Rajput also expressed support for the Samajwadi Party’s new campaign, “SP Will Clean Up,” asserting that such initiatives are necessary given the current circumstances. He accused the BJP government of ruining Uttar Pradesh and fostering corruption throughout the state.
Highlighting the alarming crime statistics, Rajput raised concerns about law and order, referencing incidents of violence in police stations, jails, hospitals, roads, and hotels. He pointed out that Uttar Pradesh ranks first in the country for crimes against women, according to National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) data, and called for a widespread public campaign against these issues.
Responding to a statement by Janata Dal (Democratic) legislator Raghu Raj Pratap Singh, Rajput backed the alleged “Gen Z” movement at Jantar Mantar. He praised the youth for their resilience in continuing the protest despite police repression, stating he is proud of their efforts.
Rajput alleged that the youth involved in the movement faced brutality and were unjustly labeled as anti-national. He clarified that the protest aimed to challenge a government marked by scandals, such as paper leaks and diminishing job opportunities.
In reaction to comments from West Bengal leader Dilip Ghosh, Rajput demanded Ghosh report any knowledge of potential terrorist activities to the National Investigation Agency instead of making public statements. He questioned when Ghosh became aware of such information and insisted that if he had prior knowledge and failed to inform the authorities, his role should be investigated.
Rajput also urged Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to dismiss minister Anil Rajbhar, following statements that raised concerns about the government’s awareness of criminal activities. He questioned why known criminals were not apprehended in a timely manner, criticizing the police’s alleged encounter actions.
Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party spokesperson Ashutosh Verma countered that their party continuously voices the concerns of villagers and constituents. He accused the BJP of suppressing the voices of youth, Dalits, and farmers, asserting that the Samajwadi Party will continue to advocate for the affected groups, including women and the youth of Uttar Pradesh.
