Kolkata, September 14 (Daily Kiran) : Kolkata’s Minister Dilip Ghosh has voiced strong support for the West Bengal government’s recent actions against illegal madrasas. In a statement to reporters, he expressed concerns that these institutions may harbor terrorists. “No illegal operations, whether madrasas or restaurants, can function outside the law without government approval,” he emphasized.
Ghosh highlighted that the government is scrutinizing all such institutions, asserting that any unauthorized establishment will be shut down. “Only those with valid permits will be allowed to operate,” he stated. He pointed out that suspicions surrounding madrasas are not new, noting that connections to past terrorist attacks have often involved madrasa teachers. “Terrorists find refuge in these places,” he added, reiterating that many leaders have raised alarms about this issue, yet solutions have been elusive.
Additionally, Ghosh advocated for the implementation of a Uniform Civil Code (UCC) across the country, including in West Bengal. He believes this is essential for the nation’s unity, integrity, and security.
Commenting on the recent BRICS summit held in Delhi, Ghosh praised Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, stating that India’s hospitality won widespread acclaim. He expressed optimism that the summit could pave the way for a new world order in trade and global politics, envisioning an end to ongoing conflicts and a celebration of humanity. Ghosh concluded by stressing the importance of prioritizing public safety and economic security.
