New Delhi, September 15 (Daily Kiran) : Congress MP Sukdev Bhagat has been appointed by the party’s top leadership as the in-charge of Chhattisgarh. Expressing gratitude for this significant responsibility, Bhagat emphasized his goal of bringing Congress back to power in the upcoming 2028 assembly elections.
In an interview, Bhagat stated, “I want to first thank the party leadership for the trust they have placed in me. Considering the current situation in Chhattisgarh, our priority is to restore Congress to power in 2028. We need to effectively coordinate with our leaders and address issues that resonate with the public.”
He highlighted the importance of winning the trust of the electorate, particularly on tribal seats, given the state’s geographical context.
Discussing his meetings with top party leaders, Bhagat remarked, “I believe that engaging with opposition leaders like Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi, as well as our General Secretary K.C. Venugopal, energizes and guides us. It helps us tackle various issues and enhances our performance from both an organizational and public perspective.”
On the recent arrests related to the paper leak case in Jharkhand, Bhagat commended the CID for their diligent work, noting that they have apprehended 21 individuals. “Under Hemant Soren’s leadership, our government is committed to ensuring that anyone found guilty of irregularities will not be spared. Any misconduct in recruitment examinations is being taken seriously, and we will take appropriate action against those responsible,” he added.
