Uttar Pradesh Ministers Criticize Akhilesh Yadavs PDA Campaign as Mere Political Rhetoric
Uttar Pradesh ministers dismiss Akhilesh Yadavs PDA campaign as political gimmickry ahead of the 2027 elections.

Lucknow, September 24 (Daily Kiran) : Akhilesh Yadav, leader of the Samajwadi Party (SP), launched his ‘PDA Yatra’ from Raebareli on Thursday. This initiative comes as political activities ramp up ahead of the 2027 assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh.
Before the journey began, SP leaders and supporters put up posters and hoardings throughout Raebareli. These displays depicted Yadav as deities Lord Ram and Lord Krishna, alongside images of SP founder Mulayam Singh Yadav and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution.
Critiquing these posters, Uttar Pradesh Minister Anil Rajbhar stated that the SP must clarify to the public who they truly refer to as ‘PDA’. He accused the party of failing to define the term and suggested they are merely attempting to mislead the electorate. Rajbhar expressed confidence that the public is well aware of the SP’s tactics and that these strategies will not succeed in the upcoming elections.
Minister Kapildev Agarwal remarked that Yadav’s concerns about PDA, caste issues, and religious matters are merely election-related tactics. He noted that for the past four and a half years, Yadav has primarily engaged in tweeting, while trust in Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Prime Minister Modi continues to grow in the state.
Minister Dayashankar Singh labeled the PDA concept as just a ‘jumla’ (slogan), asserting that it serves as an election catchphrase for Yadav. Singh pointed out Yadav’s inconsistent definitions of PDA, suggesting confusion about its meaning, which he believes undermines its credibility. He emphasized that real development can only occur under Modi’s leadership.
Minister O.P. Rajbhar added that Yadav’s visit to Raebareli is strategic, as it is not only a stronghold for Congress but also an opportunity for him to rally his supporters. He expressed concerns that Yadav’s efforts to boost the morale of his unruly workers could backfire.
The political climate in Uttar Pradesh is intensifying as parties gear up for the crucial elections, with each side keenly aware of the stakes involved.
