Westlife Foodworld Reports ₹2.7 Crore Loss in Q2 Despite Revenue Growth
Westlife Foodworld faces a ₹2.7 crore loss in Q2 FY 2026-27, despite a revenue increase and expansion of its restaurant network.

Mumbai, October 23 (Daily Kiran) : Westlife Foodworld Limited, which operates McDonald’s in Western and Southern India, reported a net loss of ₹2.7 crore for the second quarter of the fiscal year 2026-27. This marks a significant decline from the ₹37 crore net profit recorded during the same period last year. Despite this downturn, the company experienced a robust increase in revenue.
According to a filing with the stock exchange, the company’s operational revenue surged by 16.4%, reaching ₹747 crore in the September quarter, compared to ₹642 crore in the same quarter of the previous year.
The operational performance remained relatively strong, with EBITDA increasing by 39.2% year-on-year, reaching ₹94 crore, up from ₹67.3 crore last year. During this period, the EBITDA margin improved from 10.5% to 12.5%.
The company attributed its operational profit improvement to enhanced efficiency and cost control measures. Operating EBITDA rose by 29%, totaling ₹98.1 crore, while the EBITDA margin reached 13.1%. The cash PAT stood at ₹52.6 crore, reflecting a healthy margin of 7%.
During the quarter, Westlife Foodworld continued to expand its network, adding 11 new restaurants. This brought the total number of outlets to 492 across 80 cities. The company remains focused on enhancing its reach and customer convenience in both existing and emerging markets.
Chairman Amit Jatia stated that the quarterly results reflect the strength of the company’s strategy and execution capabilities. He noted, “The increase in customer numbers, improved profitability, and ongoing expansion position us well to capitalize on significant future opportunities, create long-term value, and further strengthen our leadership position in the industry.”
Digital sales also emerged as a key growth driver for the company, with digital channels accounting for over 75% of total sales in the September quarter. The McDonald’s app surpassed 58 million downloads, with the number of monthly active users rising to approximately 4.2 million.
However, the decline in net profit, despite rising revenues and improved operational performance, indicates that the company continues to face pressure from various financial and non-operational expenses, leading to the reported loss for the quarter.
