Yatindra Siddaramaiah Expresses Confidence in Sting Operation Investigation
Yatindra Siddaramaiah expresses trust in the police investigation of a sting operation linked to his father, emphasizing accountability.

Mysuru, October 23 (Daily Kiran) : Yatindra Siddaramaiah, Karnataka’s Urban Development Minister and in charge of Mysuru district, expressed confidence in the state police’s investigation into an alleged sting operation involving his father, Siddaramaiah. Speaking to the media in Mysuru, he insisted that all individuals involved in the case should be arrested and thoroughly investigated.
He stated that his father has made it clear to Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar and Home Minister Priyank Kharge that the inquiry must be conducted effectively, and those responsible, regardless of their status, should face consequences.
“Two individuals, including a journalist, have been detained and questioned. My father has been informed about the detention and the questioning of the journalist. He has urged the Chief Minister and Home Minister for a thorough investigation, asserting that anyone behind this should be apprehended,” Yatindra remarked.
He affirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring a transparent investigation, asserting that the police are managing the case competently. “We trust the investigation led by our government. We hope it will be conducted transparently. For now, we believe the police handling the case are doing their job well. If the investigation is not conducted properly, we will demand a higher-level inquiry.”
Addressing a controversy regarding the Chief Minister’s wife participating in the Mysuru Dasara festival, Yatindra defended her actions. He stated that there was nothing inappropriate about her offering flowers to Goddess Chamundeshwari during the ‘Jambu Savaari’ procession.
He argued that since the Chief Minister’s wife was not engaged in any official capacity, there was no breach of protocol that warranted criticism.
Additionally, he criticized the police for preventing ministers from participating in the ‘Nandi Dhwaja Puja’ during the Dasara festival. He contended that the police officer involved overstepped his authority, questioning why an officer of the rank of Inspector General of Police made such a decision.
Yatindra also noted that the state government has ordered an investigation into this incident, emphasizing that the concerned officer must provide an explanation for their actions to the investigation team. He stressed that, according to protocol, ministers should not have been barred from attending religious ceremonies.
