Uttar Pradesh Assembly Budget Session Begins Amid Opposition Protests

Lucknow, February 9: The budget session of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly commenced on Monday. During the Governor’s address, opposition leaders created significant disruption. Governor Anandiben Patel was speaking when Samajwadi Party (SP) legislators raised slogans and caused a commotion.

Energy Minister A.K. Sharma targeted the opposition, stating that their behavior would not be tolerated. He noted that the opposition was preventing the Governor from speaking, yet she managed to convey her message. He expressed gratitude to the Governor but emphasized that the opposition should not obstruct the proceedings of the House.

Sharma criticized the opposition for disrespecting women, claiming that the entire nation condemns their actions. He asserted that when the opposition lacks issues, they resort to chaos in the assembly, hindering discussions on public problems.

The minister highlighted that under the BJP government, all essential services are being provided to the public, which the opposition had previously neglected. He stated that both the central and state governments, led by the BJP, are working effectively, resulting in public satisfaction. The citizens are aware of which party stands with them and can resolve their issues.

Sharma mentioned that a statue of Ahilyabai Holkar has been installed at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple. Additionally, the government has named several institutions after Ahilyabai Holkar, demonstrating the BJP’s respect for her legacy. He accused the opposition of deliberately spreading misinformation to mislead the public.

He concluded by stating that the opposition fails to see the developmental work happening in the state, which is why they create noise when progress is made. He reminded them that during their tenure, they also ignored the public’s concerns.
