New Delhi, 22 August (Kiran News). Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios will not participate in the US Open for the third consecutive year. Tournament organisers confirmed his withdrawal on Thursday.

The 30-year-old Kyrgios has been struggling with injuries to his foot, knee, and wrist for the past few years. This season, he has played only five singles matches, losing four of them.
Kyrgios’s most successful year was 2022, when he reached the Wimbledon final and made it to the quarterfinals in New York. However, his career has been consistently affected by injuries. He played just one match in 2023 and missed the entire 2024 season. This year, he has not played any singles match since his second-round loss at the Miami Open in March.
A ‘lucky loser’ will take Kyrgios’s place in the main draw. The men’s singles matches of this year’s last Grand Slam, the US Open, will begin from Sunday.
