Jaipur: Light to moderate rainfall was recorded in parts of Baran, Bharatpur, Dausa, Sikar, Jhunjhunu and a few other districts of RAJASTHAN over the past 24 hours, with some areas receiving up to 2 inches of rain. Jaipur, Ajmer, Sawai Madhopur and neighbouring districts saw cloudy skies during the day. In contrast, dry weather persisted in western Rajasthan, where temperatures climbed to 39°C.

Weather experts predict that the monsoon may remain weak in the state this week. The Jaipur Meteorological Centre has not issued any rain alert until 14 August.
The highest rainfall was recorded in Atru (Baran) at 50 mm. Other rainfall figures include: Chhabra (Baran) 5 mm, Bandikui (Dausa) 18 mm, Deeg (Bharatpur) 2 mm, Aandhi (Jaipur) 2 mm, Kotputli (Jaipur) 3 mm, Khanpur (Jhalawar) 6 mm, Udaipurwati (Jhunjhunu) 8 mm, Hindaun (Karauli) 10 mm, Neemrana (Alwar) 3 mm, Laxmangarh (Sikar) 6 mm and Neem Ka Thana (Sikar) 5 mm. Light rain and drizzle were also reported in parts of Alwar, Jaipur, Dausa, Sikar, Dholpur and Bharatpur districts.
Monsoon Trough Positioned North of Normal
According to weather experts, the monsoon trough remains north of its normal position, currently passing through Faridkot, Ludhiana, Shahjahanpur, Ballia and Jalpaiguri. This shift is resulting in significantly reduced rainfall in the core monsoon zone states, including Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Odisha.
