Guwahati, March 27: Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal asserted on Friday that the BJP is on track to form the government in Assam for the third time, claiming the party will secure over 100 seats in the upcoming assembly elections. He emphasized that the party has made historic decisions for the state.
While addressing a public rally in the Borholla assembly constituency of Cachar district in southern Assam, Sonowal stated that the BJP’s governance and development initiatives have strengthened public trust across the state.
He remarked, “The BJP will easily form the government in Assam, and we are confident of winning more than 100 seats. The people have witnessed our work and have full faith in our leadership.”
Sonowal highlighted the significant changes brought about by the BJP-led government, contrasting it with previous administrations.
He noted, “Historic decisions have been made for Assam’s development and identity. People no longer desire instability and corruption; they seek development and good governance.”
Pointing out various initiatives launched by both state and central governments, he stated that these efforts have reached the grassroots level, improving citizens’ lives.
Discussing the political landscape, he claimed that opposition parties lack direction and public support, while the BJP continues to expand its base across all regions, including the Barak Valley.
He added, “The overwhelming support in places like Borholla is evidence of the trust people have in the BJP. We are fully committed to advancing Assam on the path of progress.”
The Union Minister urged party workers to intensify their outreach efforts ahead of the elections, emphasizing the importance of connecting with voters at the booth level.
The rally was attended by senior party leaders and local candidates, drawing a large crowd of party supporters. The Assam assembly elections are expected to witness intense competition among multiple parties, with the BJP aiming for a return to power while opposition parties prepare to challenge its dominance.
