Lucknow, March 29: Senior leader of the Samajwadi Party (SP), Ravidas Mehrotra, has asserted that the SP will form the government in the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, with Akhilesh Yadav as the next Chief Minister.
Mehrotra’s statement comes in the wake of a public address by SP chief Akhilesh Yadav in Dadri. He discussed the large rally held in Dadri, marking the formal start of the party’s preparations for the upcoming elections. According to Mehrotra, there is a wave of change in Uttar Pradesh as the public is seeking transformation.
The rally attracted millions, with many listening to Yadav via mobile phones. Mehrotra emphasized that such a massive gathering had never been witnessed in Western Uttar Pradesh before, indicating a clear demand for change. Yadav addressed various public issues during the rally.
He recounted an incident at a temple where the entire premises were cleaned. Mehrotra expressed confidence that the BJP’s influence is waning, predicting that the party will be ousted from power by 2027. He believes that under Yadav’s leadership, Uttar Pradesh will progress and foster brotherhood.
On another note, regarding the pending Dearness Allowance (DA) payments in West Bengal, Mehrotra noted that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s government has announced that the dues from 2016-2019 will be settled in one installment before March 31. This decision has been praised by various leaders as a commendable step.
In light of the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, Mehrotra commented on the escalating tensions between Iran, Israel, and the United States, warning that the situation might lead to ground action. He stated that while initial attacks were carried out by Israel and the U.S., Iran claims that the conflict was instigated by them and has vowed to respond appropriately.
