UDF Poised for Major Victory in Kerala, Claims Rahul Gandhi

Thiruvananthapuram, March 28: Opposition leader Rahul Gandhi made a bold claim on Saturday regarding his party’s prospects in Kerala. He stated that the Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) is on track for a significant victory, aiming for 100 seats in the upcoming elections.

Voting for the 140 assembly seats in Kerala is scheduled for April 9, and election campaigning is reaching its peak amid intense heat.

Gandhi’s statement followed a meeting with Congress MP K. Sudhakaran from Kannur and his family. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and AICC General Secretary K.C. Venugopal were also present during this significant gathering, which is seen as a message of unity within the party.

In a social media post, Rahul Gandhi praised Sudhakaran’s political journey, referring to him as a “true Congress soldier” who has stood firm against every challenge.

He asserted, “The UDF is united and strong. We are moving towards a remarkable victory with 100 seats in Kerala.” This statement reflects the confidence of Congress leadership that anti-incumbency sentiments and organizational strength could work in their favor during the elections.

The Congress party has faced factional challenges recently but is now focused on presenting an image of unity. The joint presence of top leaders is considered part of this strategy.

In response, the ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF) dismissed these claims as “wishful thinking.” Nevertheless, Congress is determined to fight this election based on public sentiment and the favorable atmosphere building around them.

As campaigning intensifies, Rahul Gandhi’s assertion adds an intriguing element to the competition and stirs new dynamics in Kerala’s political landscape.
