U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio to Visit Jaipur Amid Heightened Security

Jaipur, May 25: U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio is on a four-day visit to India. He is scheduled to arrive in Jaipur on Monday, prompting extensive preparations and heightened security measures in the city.

This will be Rubio’s first visit to Jaipur. According to the proposed itinerary, he is expected to land around 2 PM and depart on May 26 at 6:30 AM.

During his visit, he may tour the Amer Fort, where Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumar will welcome him. Reports indicate that he is expected to arrive at the fort around 3 PM.

Preparations for a welcome ceremony in Jaleb Chowk within the fort have already begun. Local artists and cultural groups are being invited to showcase Rajasthan’s traditional culture during the event.

In light of this high-profile visit, the Jaipur district administration, police, and security agencies are on high alert. Officials are inspecting travel routes, event venues, and accommodations. Security agencies are particularly monitoring hotels, tourist sites, and areas with VVIP movement.

Special plans are being developed to manage traffic and crowds during Rubio’s visit to minimize inconvenience and ensure smooth mobility. Efforts to enhance the city’s cleanliness, lighting, and aesthetics, especially around the Amer Palace, have also been accelerated.

Rubio’s visit to India spans from May 23 to 26, during which he will also visit Kolkata, Agra, and New Delhi. The main objective of this trip is to strengthen cooperation between India and the U.S. in trade, defense, energy, and strategic matters.

He is expected to participate in several high-level meetings and diplomatic events, including discussions related to the upcoming Quad foreign ministers’ meeting in New Delhi.

Officials have instructed all administrative departments to ensure that there are no disruptions during Rubio’s visit to Jaipur and that all arrangements run smoothly.

Last year, U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance visited Jaipur with his family from April 21 to 24, during which he toured Amer Fort and addressed an event in the city.
