U.S. Forces on High Alert as Attacks on Iranian Military Bases Continue for Eighth Night

Washington, July 20: The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) has announced that over 50,000 American troops stationed in the Middle East are on high alert. The U.S. military has completed another round of attacks on Iran.

CENTCOM reported on social media platform ‘X’ that for the eighth consecutive night, U.S. forces successfully targeted Iran’s military coastal surveillance and air defense facilities, maritime capabilities, and missile and drone storage sites. The objective is to continuously weaken Iran’s military strength.

The U.S. military also targeted the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran. According to CENTCOM, the IRGC had attacked American troops in Jordan on July 17.

The command stated, “Over 50,000 American men and women in uniform are deployed in the Middle East. They are fully alert, focused on their mission, ready to act, and capable of responding if necessary.”

According to a report by China’s Xinhua News Agency, the Iranian military claimed on Sunday that it had targeted U.S. bases in Kuwait in retaliation for American attacks on Iranian infrastructure, including bridges.

The Iranian military announced on its website that it had targeted two locations, the Al-Adiri Camp and Ali Al Salem Air Base, using drone strikes.

Additionally, Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization stated that U.S. attacks occurred at the construction site of the Darkhovin nuclear power plant in Khuzestan province in southwestern Iran. The organization condemned the attack, labeling it a violation of international law.

Earlier on Saturday, the U.S. military also targeted Iran’s coastal surveillance and air defense facilities.

CENTCOM reiterated, “During the eighth consecutive night of U.S. attacks, our forces successfully struck Iran’s military coastal surveillance and air defense facilities, maritime capabilities, and missile and drone storage sites to weaken Iran’s military capabilities.”

The U.S. military targeted IRGC bases believed to have been involved in the attacks on American troops in Jordan on July 17.
