U.S. Ambassador Sergio Gore Meets NSA Ajit Doval to Discuss India-U.S. Security Cooperation

New Delhi, March 19: The U.S. Ambassador to India, Sergio Gore, met with National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval on Wednesday. The discussion focused on significant security and geopolitical issues, as well as the ongoing strategic cooperation between India and the United States.

This meeting took place against the backdrop of current conflicts in West Asia and the unstable security situation along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border.

Following the meeting, Gore took to the social media platform ‘X’ to express, “Just wrapped up a very meaningful meeting with National Security Advisor Ajit Doval. We discussed important security and geopolitical issues. The strategic cooperation between India and the U.S. continues to advance.”

On March 12, Lieutenant General Joel B. Vowell, Deputy Commanding General of the United States Army Pacific (USARPAC), met with Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Upendra Dwivedi in New Delhi. They discussed ways to further strengthen the defense partnership between the two nations.

The discussions between the two officials centered on regional security in the Indo-Pacific, enhancing interoperability through joint military exercises, and exploring new avenues for military-to-military cooperation.

The Additional Director General of Public Information (ADGPI) of the Indian Army posted on ‘X’, stating, “The main focus of this conversation was on regional security in the Indo-Pacific, enhancing interoperability through joint military exercises, and deepening military-to-military cooperation in various domains. The meeting reaffirmed the growing strategic harmony between both armies and their shared commitment to addressing emerging security challenges.”

Lieutenant General Vowell also met with Vice Chief of Army Staff (VCOAS) Lieutenant General Pushpendra Singh to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation between the two nations’ armed forces. Their discussions focused on regional security in the Indo-Pacific, enhancing interoperability through joint training and exercises, and increasing military-to-military engagement.

ADGPI noted, “Lieutenant General Joel B. Vowell, Deputy Commanding General, USARPAC, met with VCOAS Lieutenant General Pushpendra Singh to discuss ways to further strengthen India-U.S. military cooperation. The discussions primarily focused on regional security in the Indo-Pacific, expanding military-to-military engagement, and enhancing interoperability through joint training and exercises. Both sides also explored deeper collaboration opportunities across various operational domains. This dialogue reflects the growing strategic partnership and the shared commitment of both armies to promote stability and security in the region.”
