Beijing, March 19: Recently, China’s Ministry of Natural Resources announced significant achievements from its phased mineral exploration strategy. New deposits of solid minerals have been discovered in the Miananing area of Sichuan Province and the Dangchang region of Gansu Province. These include vital resources such as rare earth elements, fluorite, barite, and galena.
According to the ministry, this new mineral exploration strategy has yielded remarkable results during the 14th Five-Year Plan period. Over this timeframe, ten oil fields with reserves exceeding 100 million tons and 19 major gas fields have been identified in China. Additionally, there has been a notable increase in reserves of essential mineral resources like uranium, copper, gold, lithium, and potash.
Notably, the discovery of a copper mine with over 100 million tons of reserves in Shizang, a super-large gold mine in the Shiling area of Laizhou, Shandong Province, and Asia’s largest single lithium mine in Yaqiang, Sichuan Province, has propelled China’s mineral capacity to new heights.
