Trump and Putin Discuss Ukraine Conflict Amid Rising Middle East Tensions

Washington, March 10: President Donald Trump of the United States spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin over the phone. During their conversation, the two leaders addressed the ongoing war in Ukraine and the escalating conflicts in the Middle East. The U.S. continues its military operations against Iran, making this dialogue particularly significant. Trump confirmed the discussion during a news conference in Florida, stating that they first talked about the war in Ukraine before delving into the situation in the Middle East.

In response to a question, Trump remarked, “Yes, I had a very good conversation with President Putin. Many people from both sides were on the line. We discussed Ukraine, which is just an endless fight.”

Trump also noted that they discussed the personal tensions between Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. He emphasized that the ongoing conflict is largely influenced by the animosity between the two leaders. “There is tremendous hatred between President Putin and President Zelensky. They are unable to work together,” he stated. Despite the challenges, Trump described the conversation as constructive.

He added, “I believe it was a positive discussion on that topic, and we clearly talked about the Middle East.” Trump mentioned that Putin indicated a willingness to play a constructive role amid the growing crisis, expressing a desire to be helpful. However, he also pointed out that resolving the Russia-Ukraine war would require significant contributions from Moscow.

“I said, ‘You could be more helpful by ending the Ukraine-Russia war; that would be more beneficial.’ We had a very good conversation, and he wants to be very constructive,” Trump noted.

The President did not disclose any specific proposals discussed during the call. He highlighted the ongoing military campaign against Iran, claiming that thousands of targets have been attacked, significantly degrading Tehran’s military capabilities.

This call with Putin comes at a time of increasing global tensions and heightened diplomatic activity among major powers as conflicts in the Middle East intensify.
