
Greater Noida, June 20: In a police encounter in the Badalpur area of Greater Noida, two suspects linked to a murder case were injured. The police apprehended both individuals and seized illegal firearms along with a motorcycle that lacked a number plate.
According to police reports, the arrested suspects were wanted for the murder of their neighbor that occurred just a day prior. On Saturday, the Badalpur police conducted a vehicle check near the NTPC cut, close to the Ambuja Cement Factory, based on local intelligence.
During the operation, officers signaled two young men on a suspicious motorcycle to stop. However, upon seeing the police, the duo attempted to flee at high speed. After a brief chase, their motorcycle skidded. Faced with capture, the suspects opened fire on the police team. In response, the police acted in self-defense, resulting in gunshot wounds to both suspects’ legs. They were subsequently arrested and taken to the hospital for treatment.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Vivek Nagar, alias Vicky (27), son of Rajeshwar, a resident of Achheja village, and Vishal (25), son of Rajesh, from Royal City near Bhima Chowk, also in Achheja.
During the search, police recovered a .32 bore illegal country-made pistol, a .315 bore illegal country-made pistol, live cartridges, spent shells, and the unregistered motorcycle. During interrogation, it was revealed that both suspects are seasoned criminals, having murdered their neighbor, Jivan Kishore, on June 19, 2026.
A case was registered at the Badalpur police station following a complaint from the victim’s daughter. Since the incident, police have been actively searching for the suspects. Authorities are currently investigating the criminal history of the arrested individuals and gathering information on any cases registered against them in other districts or states. Both suspects are receiving medical treatment, and further legal action is underway.
