Ahmedabad, August 15: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) in Ahmedabad successfully rescued two minors who were allegedly lured away from Jodhpur. The girls were found at Ahmedabad Railway Station, and two young men have been arrested for attempting to take them to Bengaluru. The police acted on digital evidence and collaborated with Jodhpur police for the arrests.
This operation was part of ‘Operation Seva.’ The RPF received information from the Kudi Bhagatasani police station in Jodhpur about the missing girls, who were suspected to be traveling by train.
Upon receiving the alert, RPF Inspector formed a team, including Sub-Inspector Sonu Kumar and Assistant Sub-Inspector Ritesh Yadav. They inspected Train No. 20693, the Jodhpur-KSR Bengaluru Express, and identified one of the minors.
The man accompanying the girl attempted to flee but was apprehended by RPF personnel. Before his capture, he discarded his mobile phone, which contained messages and call records that were allegedly deleted.
Later, the police recovered the phone from Nadiad Railway Station. The RPF managed to retrieve crucial data from the device, leading to the identification of the second suspect.
With assistance from Jodhpur police, the second suspect’s live location was tracked, resulting in his arrest alongside the other minor at Platform No. 1 of Ahmedabad Railway Station.
During initial questioning, the suspects claimed they met the girls through social media and online gaming platforms. According to police, the duo planned to lure the minors away from their homes and transport them to Bengaluru from Jodhpur Railway Station.
Authorities also discovered a fake e-Aadhaar card created under the name “Aryan” and images of the minors’ Aadhaar cards on the suspects’ phones.
The arrested individuals were identified as 24-year-old Akeeb Ansari and Syed Ibrahim, both residents of Bengaluru.
Ahmedabad’s Divisional Railway Manager, Ved Prakash, stated that the safety of passengers, especially children and women, is the railway’s top priority. He praised the swift action, vigilance, and coordination of the RPF team, which led to the safe rescue of the girls.
Senior Divisional Security Commissioner Anshuman Tripathi emphasized that the RPF acted immediately upon receiving the information. He credited the successful rescue operation to the cooperation between Jodhpur police and the RPF, reaffirming their commitment to ensuring the safety of children and passengers in railway premises.
Both minors and the suspects were brought to the RPF post in Ahmedabad. Subsequently, Jodhpur’s Kudi Bhagatasani police station was informed, and the girls and suspects were handed over to the GRP Ahmedabad for further legal action. They will later be transferred to the relevant Jodhpur police authorities.
This operation showcased the collaborative efforts of RPF Ahmedabad, GRP Ahmedabad, and Jodhpur police, utilizing digital evidence and location tracking to prevent the minors from being taken out of state.
