Jhunjhunu, 6 December (Daily Kiran) – A runaway car crossed the divider and collided head-on with a truck in the Mukundgarh police station area of Jhunjhunu district. The accident resulted in the death of a 10-day-old newborn girl and her uncle. The incident occurred on Saturday afternoon.

Assistant Sub-Inspector Babulal of Mukundgarh police station said that a report was received about the accident near Balaria Mod on the Sikar-Jhunjhunu highway. An Ertiga car lost control, crossed the road divider, and crashed into an oncoming truck. The police team reached the spot immediately and rushed the injured to Mukundgarh hospital. Doctors declared the 10-day-old baby girl and a 47-year-old man dead on arrival.

The deceased were identified as Mavis, the 10-day-old newborn, and Mohammad Maksud, a resident of Tamkor village in Jhunjhunu district. The baby’s parents sustained serious injuries and were referred to Sikar for advanced treatment.

During the investigation, police learned that Ikramuddin, a resident of Tamkor, had taken his pregnant wife Khairunisha to Jaipur for delivery. Khairunisha was staying at her elder brother Mohammad Maksud’s house in Jaipur. Maksud was engaged in making bangles there. On Saturday morning, Khairunisha, her newborn daughter Mavis, Ikramuddin, and Maksud were travelling from Jaipur to Tamkor. Rashid, the nephew of Maksud, was driving the car.

Near Balaria Mod, a tyre burst caused the car to lose control and cross the divider, colliding with a truck coming from Nawalgarh towards Jhunjhunu. Rashid survived the accident unharmed.

Rashid explained that Ikramuddin runs a bangle business in Tamkor while his elder brother operates a similar business in Jaipur. Ikramuddin had taken his pregnant wife to Jaipur for better medical care. The family was returning to their village after the delivery when the tragic accident happened before they could reach home.
